A classic wood-backed dandy brush with a medium feel for summer and clipped coats.
This Winner’s Circle brush has grey English union fibre bristles set in a 7.5" varnished wood block. Union fibre is a natural fibre blend. It has enough stiffness to lift dust, loose hair and light dirt, but it’s still forgiving enough for a short summer coat or a freshly clipped horse, where a harder dandy brush could feel scratchy.
Use it after the curry, with short flicking strokes in the direction of the hair, to sweep away what you’ve loosened. It’s a good middle step between a stiff mud brush and a soft finishing brush, and the kind of brush that ends up in everyday use.
The varnished wood block is comfortable to hold and has that traditional feel a lot of us grew up grooming with.

Care: Knock out loose hair and dust after each use. If you wash it, keep water off the wood as much as possible and let it dry bristles down so water doesn’t sit in the block.
