Brand new, never worn, and still in the original box. These came in on consignment, and they’re a good chance to get a quality pair of tall boots for less than you’d pay new.

The Donatello Junior S is Tredstep’s tall boot for young riders, and it works well as a first pair of tall boots for both schooling and showing. It’s made from smooth leather and has a covered stretch panel, which gives a little at the ankle and calf so your rider can sink their heel down and move more easily in the saddle. There’s a full-length YKK zipper up the back with an elastic tab at the top, so getting them on and off doesn’t have to be a wrestling match.

Inside, the footbed is cushioned and lined with Coolmax, which helps keep feet a bit drier and less tired on long show days. The rubber sole has good grip in the stirrup.

Tall boots come down to fit, more than anything. Measure around the widest part of your calf and from the floor to the back of your knee while wearing breeches and your riding socks, and compare with the numbers above. Keep in mind that new leather boots usually drop a little in height as they break in, which is why a tall height can be a good thing.
