Samantha was bit by the horse bug at a young age. Starting with the pony rides, to pony camps, and eventually into a riding lesson program. She received her first horse at the age of 10 and participated in the local 4-H club. With her Appaloosa gelding, she rode English and Western at the local fairs up and down Vancouver Island. Always a barn rat, Samantha spent many hours at the barn learning and absorbing everything she could. Soon discovering a love for jumping she entered the hunter/jumper world which she competed in for the rest of her high school years.
Currently with the partnership of her gelding Pi, a PerchronxTB cross. They play in the jumper arena and starting to fall in love with the working equitation path. Enjoying local shows, clinics, and the journey of horsemanship together.
Anyone who knows Samantha knows there is always a shadow not far behind. DeHavilland has been a working tack store dog since an 8-week old puppy. She is greatly loved by all the customers who come to visit “her store”. Often seen at horse shows, and riding lessons, she is always ready for some good belly rubs.
