This is a stiff dandy brush made with union fibre bristles on a 7.5" varnished wood block. It’s built for the jobs a softer brush can’t handle, like dried mud on the legs, caked-on dirt after a good roll, and the grime that collects in a thick winter coat.
Use it after the curry with short, firm flicks in the direction of the hair to knock out what you’ve loosened. It’s great on legs, hindquarters and anywhere mud likes to settle. Since it’s a stiff brush, go easy on bony areas and skip the face. If your horse has a clipped or thin summer coat, a softer brush will be more comfortable.
The varnished wood block gives you a solid, traditional grip that can handle some real scrubbing.
