These ones have been retired by Mountain Horse, so you won’t find a new pair anymore. They’re a warm winter tall boot with lace-up detail on the front. The laces are mostly for looks, and the full-length zipper is how you actually get them on and off. That’s a nice thing when your fingers are frozen at the end of evening chores.

What makes them good for winter:

• Faux fur lining with Thinsulate insulation, so they stay warm without feeling bulky
• Waterproof foot made to cope with slush, snow, and wet paddocks
• Shock-absorbing sole, which helps on long days of standing around the barn or the arena rail
